WELCOME TO OUR SEWING ACADEMY

Guided instruction. Technical precision. A bra made by you.

WHAT'S INCLUDED

LIVE WEEKLY LESSONS

Six weeks of live instruction in an intimate online class. Each lesson combines demonstration, technical guidance, and time to work through the construction process step by step.

EXPERT SUPPORT

Bring your questions to weekly Office Hours and receive direct guidance as you work. You’ll also have access to a private session with your instructor for more individualized support.

PREPARED FOR YOU

For beginner classes, your sewing kit arrives with the materials required to complete three practice bras and your final garment — allowing you to focus on learning the construction and fit process.

LIFETIME ACCESS

Return to your class whenever you need it. Lesson recordings and class handouts remain available after the live program ends, so the techniques you learn can continue to support your sewing practice.

CLASSES | SATURDAY MORNINGS · 90 MINUTES

Each week introduces a defined stage of the bra-making process through presentation and live demonstration.

Rather than trying to piece together techniques on your own, you’ll work through construction in sequence, learning what to do, why it matters, and how to recognize when it has been done correctly.

Class handouts provide a clear reference you can return to between sessions and after the course.

WEEKLY OFFICE HOURS | WEDNESDAY EVENINGS

Technique often becomes clearest when you can ask a question about the project directly in front of you.

Weekly Office Hours give you dedicated access to your instructor for troubleshooting, fit questions, and personalized feedback as your bra takes shape.

Your class also includes one private session with your instructor for additional individual guidance.

LEARN FROM PROFESSIONALS

ANITA

Senior Instructor, Sewist

Anita brings more than two decades of professional sewing experience to the Rubies classroom.

Originally from Salt Lake City and now based in Mesa, Arizona, she holds a degree in fashion design and runs her own sewing production and design company. Her approach combines deep technical knowledge with the patient, precise instruction required to help students understand not just the steps of construction, but the craft behind them.

RUHEE

Founder of Rubies Bras, Designer

Ruhee is the founder of Rubies Bras and creator of the Sahaara Bra.

After an 18-year career in corporate marketing and consulting, she began Rubies in 2015 following her own search for a better-fitting bra. What began as a personal project developed into a practice spanning custom bra making, pattern development, and professional instruction.

Today, she brings that accumulated knowledge of fit and construction into the Rubies classroom — helping students understand the technical decisions that turn individual pieces into a beautifully resolved garment.

LOVE FOR THE SAHAARA PATTERN

"I tried for months to make my own bras but could never get the right fit...in six weeks I learned not only how to properly sew a bra but how to find the right size for me. Anita and Ruhee were wonderful teachers. I finally know how to fix my fit issues and take that knowledge on to other patterns. I can't wait for the next level course!"
– Kelly

"This class was so informative and helpful. I have tried bra making before and always given up because I could not acheive a good fit. Not only do I now have the most comfortable and best fitting bra that I have ever owned, but I have learned many skills and alterations that can be applied to any bra pattern... Ruhee and Anita and all of the others in the class were so supportive and we amazing about offering advice to help each person get the perfect fit for their body without judgement..."
– Angel

"This was my first bra to make. It is so comfortable. As a beginner, this was a great bra to sew. I highly recommend it! Ruhee was very helpful answering questions."
– Karen
