The story of the sahaara bra
The inspiration for The Sahaara Pattern came from walking into a retail store and seeing the cutest “triangle bra” and being disappointed, yet again, that it didn’t fit. Why can’t everyone wear a wire-free triangle bra that’s low cut, sexy, and supportive? Surely, there must be a way?!So, the Rubies Team started working on a way. It’s taken us years to perfect this pattern and test on our clients with the right combination of fabrics and notions to be sure it worked. Finally, after what feels like a million design, fit, and fabric tests, we are sharing our baby with the world.
And there is only one name that I have for it. One that I kept close to my heart as a potential “baby” name since I can remember.
We create, build, and adopt all kinds of babies. Human babies, fur babies, plant babies, the list goes on. I created a business baby, which gave birth to my very first bra design and licensed pattern. And I couldn’t be more proud to name her The Sahaara.Sahaara (not to be confused with Sahara the desert) is a Sanskrit word meaning companion and support. What better word for something makes you feel beautiful, held and free.
I hope this pattern and collection brings comfort, joy and upliftment to women all around the world who know and deserve better.I want to thank all the wonderful women around the world who have helped create this beautiful collection & pattern. I am the luckiest person alive to have a village of women who have had my back throughout this whole process.
