Let customers speak for us
from 132 reviewsMy goal was to sew a well-fitting, wireless bra before my milestone birthday (70!) in 2026. Thanks to teachers Ruhee (Sahaara designer), Anita (Instructor), as well as a wonderful group of positive, encouraging sewers, I’ve met my goal. The small class size was ideal. It allowed time for our questions to be answered and for individual help with fitting and alterations. Anita’s slide presentations and sewing demonstrations were well organized. I appreciated being able to view the class recordings and print the slides. My “Sahaara binder” is full of valuable technique, fit and alteration information. I highly recommend this course!
P.S. - There are more Sahaara bras in my future… the near future. I’m registered for the Sahaara Sheers course!

I have never tried to make my own bra's. I've admired the pattern used in this class, so when the course became available I gave it a try. The class is put together to make it very approachable and unintimidating. We all learned alot about fit and how to adjust a bra to fit our bodies and our asthetics. The class is judgement free and a safe space for both your body and your sewing skills. At the end of the class, I have a bra that fits better than any of the commercial bras I own and the ability to make more!

This class was so informative and helpful. I have tried bra making before and always given up because I could not acheive a good fit. Not only do I now have the most comfortable and best fitting bra that I have ever owned, but I have learned many skills and alterations that can be applied to any bra pattern. I am not someone who is usually comfortable taking off my shirt to show my bra, but Ruhee and Anita and all of the others in the class were so supportive and we amazing about offering advice to help each person get the perfect fit for their body without judgement and with so much positivity. I cannot wait to take the ideas and inspiration I have from the class and turn them into many more Saharra bras.

I took this course because I wanted to try a non-wired bra pattern with rigid rather than stretchy cups and also to get fitting advice. I really like this pattern compared to the other non-wired bras I've tried; it is very supportive and comfortable. The fitting advice I got from Anita and Ruhee was very helpful and I plan to make many more Sahaaras following their recommendations (I have a big stash, ha ha). I did not really take the course for the sewing skills but the information on sewing was very clear so if you need that kind of instruction, it is there in the course. It is the fitting information, both general techniques you can choose to apply as well as custom solutions based on your test bras, that really make this course valuable, regardless of your sewing experience. I would recommend it to anyone who wants to make a non-wired bra.

I tried for months to make my own bras but could never get the right fit. After finding Rubies bra and purchasing 3 bras, I signed up for the Making the Sahaara bra course. In six weeks I learned not only how to properly sew a bra but how to find the right size for me. Anita and Ruhee were wonderful teachers. I finally know how to fix my fit issues and take that knowledge on to other patterns. I can't wait for the next level course!

This pattern is easier to sew than other bra patterns I've tried and I like the fit and the shape it gives under clothing. It feels more like a minimizer bra that flattens rather than focusing on getting 'projection' as some other patterns seem to do.

For my first ever attempt at bra making I could not be happier with the bra I ended up with. Really enjoyed it, thank you team! ! Amazing work.

I am delighted with the kit -the inclusion on the lingerie washing bag is a delightful touch!

I couldn't be happier with my new bra! I am so grateful for these ladies for working with me across the border. Beautiful and expert craftsmanship, there's so much attention to detail in this bra. They took into account everything I envisioned and made multiple tweaks to achieve the perfect fit, all without seeing me in person! They took time out of their schedules to accommodate the time zone difference, to boot. Thanks so much, chicas!

Great pattern, enjoying making this pattern! Easy to follow.

My diagnosis with Lupus in my 30's followed by many years of high dosed prednisone along with chemotherapy did a number on my body, self-esteem and self-worth. With the weight gain came very large and significantly asymmetrical breasts.
There were many challenging years ahead to find a decent bra. I always had to size up for the larger one which left too much cup for the smaller one! Very frustrating.
My children are grown now. Finished university and living their own lives. Mortgage paid! It was now my time to search for that illusive bra. I started googling custom bras and came across Rubies Bras. I loved Ruhee's story.
When I met Ruhee I felt instantly at ease with her. I never thought that I could wear a wireless bra again! Ruhee and Bianca proved me wrong.
With love and gratitude to both of you I go forward into my 60's with new found confidence and beauty.

I’ve made x2 mockup bras and found the cup needed to be smaller than I thought. I find the low itch construction method invaluable as a HYPER SENSITIVE autist! It is great to have the tutorials on how to adapt the pattern to your individual shape and size too. I am very wide across the cup bout with very little actual breast tissue to fill a cup that commercially produced bras ever make. I’m late to the show making my own as I’m 70 this year but I’ve really enjoyed the process so far and am just in the brink of buying my first bra kit. Fingers crossed it fits as well as I hope, and at least as well as the mockup ones.
Being in so few pattern pieces has been amazing for a newbe to making my own as so much less overwhelming once I got my head around cross grain, stretch percentage, notions, strap width and stretch or no stretch. Love it. Bra materials and notions are not as easily available in the UK THOUGH ☹️

First bra pattern I have ever sewn and it came out very well. I had to make just a few simple adjustment to optimize the fit, now it is way more comfortable than any store-bought-bra I own. The pattern instructions are very easy to understand even for a beginner in bra sewing and the video tutorials were also very helpful.

The Sahaara bra pattern is the best wire-free pattern by far ! I just added 1.4 cm to the gore to prevent spillage, according to your advice. It fits beautifully, I chose a 30C and removed a few centimeter to the length, to get something like a 29'' underbust. Thank you for a very thoughtfully drafted pattern

The cups seem to fit pretty well. I only think maybe band will have to tighten in the future but for now I think it's OK. It's a pretty bra and minimalist and I'm so happy that you helped me. You are really special.
