Your Step By Step Guide
Step 1.
BOOK A FITTING
Getting a custom bra made starts with a booking virtual fitting, which involves a 60-minute private video call. All you need is a measuring tape and a good internet connection. If you'd rather take measurements yourself without our live assistance, send us a private message and we'll send you a measurement form.
Your fitting begins with getting to know you and discussing your challenges and needs. We then walk you through how to take the measurements we'll need. If you feel uncomfortable with any of these measurements, just let us know, and we will work around your comfort level, not to worry.
Step 2.
DESIGN YOUR BRA
Based on your measurements and your needs, we will show you some bra styles, fabrics and colours we think would work best for you, and together, we will build out what your custom bra will look and feel like.
Styles vary from wired to wirefree, full to medium to light coverage, and special occasion. We have a huge array of fabric choices and an endless assortment of colours that you’ll get to see. This is where the fun really begins.
When you are happy with your bra design, payment is processed at the end of the fitting. All forms of payment are accepted, including cash, cheque, debit, credit, EFT, and Apple Pay. Instalment plans also accepted upon request.

Step 3.
FIT TESTERS DELIVERED TO YOUR DOOR
Once payment has been processed, we mail you sizing testers which are pre-made bras closest to your size based on the measurements we took and the styles you chose.
Once you receive your samples, you’ll book a second fitting with us and we'll make sure our measurements are correct and you are happy with the styles you have chosen.
A return label will be sent after this fitting so you can send the samples back to us. If we don't have a sample in your size, we skip this step and begin creating your custom bra.
Step 4.
BRA CREATION AND DELIVERY
Once the samples are returned back to us, we double check everything once again, and our team of designers and sewists then begin work on your bespoke bra piece.
Unless otherwise stated, it usually takes us around 4 weeks to make your custom bra from the date the samples are returned back to us, plus the ship time it takes to get to you.
Step 5.
FINAL FITTINGS
Just like any custom piece, 1-3 fittings are usually required to finalize the bra to get it just right. Once you receive your bra, take it for a spin, and let us know if any adjustments are needed by booking a third fitting or sending us an email. If any adjustments are required, we'll send you a return label to have the bra sent back to us, make the required alterations, and send the bra back to you.
The entire process usually takes anywhere from 6-12 weeks depending on your measurements, the style and fabric you've chosen, where you live and how many additional fittings and adjustments are needed.
Our Promise
We stand by the quality and craftsmanship of our bras, offering a LIFETIME WARRANTY, which means we'll make any repairs needed due to wear and tear for the lifetime of the bra. My diagnosis with Lupus in my 30's followed by many years of high dosed prednisone along with chemotherapy did a number on my body, self-esteem and self-worth. With the weight gain came very large and significantly asymmetrical breasts.
There were many challenging years ahead to find a decent bra. I always had to size up for the larger one which left too much cup for the smaller one! Very frustrating.
My children are grown now. Finished university and living their own lives. Mortgage paid! It was now my time to search for that illusive bra. I started googling custom bras and came across Rubies Bras. I loved Ruhee's story.

I’ve made x2 mockup bras and found the cup needed to be smaller than I thought. I find the low itch construction method invaluable as a HYPER SENSITIVE autist! It is great to have the tutorials on how to adapt the pattern to your individual shape and size too. I am very wide across the cup bout with very little actual breast tissue to fill a cup that commercially produced bras ever make. I’m late to the show making my own as I’m 70 this year but I’ve really enjoyed the process so far and am just in the brink of buying my first bra kit. Fingers crossed it fits as well as I hope, and at least as well as the mockup ones.
Being in so few pattern pieces has been amazing for a newbe to making my own as so much less overwhelming once I got my head around cross grain, stretch percentage, notions, strap width and stretch or no stretch. Love it. Bra materials and notions are not as easily available in the UK THOUGH ☹️
First bra pattern I have ever sewn and it came out very well. I had to make just a few simple adjustment to optimize the fit, now it is way more comfortable than any store-bought-bra I own. The pattern instructions are very easy to understand even for a beginner in bra sewing and the video tutorials were also very helpful.
The Sahaara bra pattern is the best wire-free pattern by far ! I just added 1.4 cm to the gore to prevent spillage, according to your advice. It fits beautifully, I chose a 30C and removed a few centimeter to the length, to get something like a 29'' underbust. Thank you for a very thoughtfully drafted pattern
The cups seem to fit pretty well. I only think maybe band will have to tighten in the future but for now I think it's OK. It's a pretty bra and minimalist and I'm so happy that you helped me. You are really special.

I love this bra pattern. I will say I measured for a 30D but the size that fits me best is actually a 30B. It provides the right amount of support and comfort!
I had an absolutely amazing experience, and I'm so glad I put my trust into Rubies Custom Bras. I was at my wits end trying to find bras in stores that fit me. I was shopping in both US and UK sizing and nothing was quite right. So finally I took to the internet to look into the custom bra process. I have to admit, I was skeptical about the virtual aspect, however, that final round of alterations really did the trick! They are so knowledgeable and patient, the customer service is great. They don't stop until your bra fits like a glove. The bra is absolutely perfect! I am happy to report it is as comfortable and supportive as I dreamed it would be.
I haven’t made it yet. I watched your excellent video and will try it soon. I live in the UK so getting parts for bras is not so easy as in North America.

- sufficient descriptions, and for different fabric-combinations
- the pdf with the pattern parts, with every part of every size on a separate page (printable on US Letter or A4) without the need of cut-and-paste; AND a clear overview in the beginning per size of which pages of the pdf you'll need...
